The Whitney Museum

Necktie Packaging Box for Museum

In 2015, Thankoon's talents were enlisted by the Whitney Museum to create two neckties to be sold as part of their fundraising efforts, so they needed a box that would help making this campaign a major success.

Visionary fashion designer Thakoon Panichigul is committed to creating timeless, forward-looking designs.  Since 2004, his work has wowed the fashion world, earning nods from a host of style icons like Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.

Each piece was presented in a base and lid style necktie packaging box with a decorative printed wrap corresponding to the pattern of the tie inside. One design was black geometric, the other floral – the same floral design was worn by First Lady Michelle Obama for her address at the opening of the new Whitney Museum location.

The base was wrapped in a black soft-touch Nuba while the lid was printed with 4-Color process and finished with overall satin aqueous coating. This necktie packaging box is what happens when high fashion meets premium custom packaging.
