Bill Murphy

Hello, I’m Bill Murphy.

I wear many hats here at Taylor Box as the Foil-Stamping and Converting Specialist who works in the Paper, Foil-Stamping, Die-Cutting, and Board Converting Departments. I am primarily working in either Foil-Stamping or die-cutting paper wraps in the Foil-Stamping department.

When needed, I’ll also fill in for the Board Department, converting chipboard or within the Paper Department, running the guillotine, converting roles and sheets, and getting them ready for foil-stamping, die-cutting, or mitering.

I started at Taylor in April of this year (2022). While I’ve only been here roughly six months, I have a lot of experience that I brought with me, which allowed me to jump right in and master my responsibilities. Before Taylor Box, I worked for a Commercial Printer for over 19 years; before that, I worked for another Packaging Manufacturer. Those roles are where I acquired all the skills needed to do the diverse work I currently do.  Also, as part of my management responsibilities in these prior roles, I have trained in Lean Management and ISO 9001 implementation, training, and auditing.

One of the things I like best about working at Taylor is the challenge of performing a variety of duties at a high level and working on many diverse projects in design and specifications. It keeps work interesting. My most memorable experience so far was being welcome aboard.

Outside of Taylor Box, I also wear many hats as a musician who plays various instruments and as a U.S.C.G. License Captain, a fly-fisherman, AND a fly designer for the fly-fishing industry.

In other words, I have a lot of hat boxes everywhere I go!
